Regenerative agriculture: carbon banked in the first 30 cm
Cover cropping and no-till can add 0.2–0.5 t C/ha/year while cutting irrigation demand. The limits are honest soil testing and the five-year patience curve.

Soil carbon is real but slow and reversible: 0.2–0.5 t C/ha/year, and one deep tillage pass can release years of it. Measure at 0–30 cm with bulk density, on the same dates, or the numbers mean nothing. Water-holding capacity usually improves before carbon shows.
